Will their arrangement ever be enough?
Relationships are no a priority for restaurateur Esteban Galiano, and when he sees Sonia Kennedy at a party, he plans to make her a conquest in a long line of many. But she rebuffs his advances and forces him to adjust--determined to meet the challenge and do whatever he must to make her his.
All her life, Sonia's beauty has caused unnecessary problems, and right now she needs a job, not a suitor. When Esteban makes an indecent proposal, her first instinct is to turn him down. But soon she's rethinking her response. Maybe it's time for her to use what she's got, to get what she wants.

Why did I give this book 3 stars? I guess because it had potential to be different. Ms. Diamond books are getting too predictable so much so that I struggled to read the end of this one. But I don't like to leave things undone. The first half of the book was ok. Typical storyline of rich Hero sees heroine and wants to sleep with her. She rejects him the first time of course, because the hook up shouldn't be that easy. The heroine rejects him a few not times after that, even rejecting the sham job he offered. At this point I'm thinking that she will be different; she would make him earn her. I believed this was shaping up to be a storyline where the H had to properly woo the girl in order to win her over while maintained her morals and respect. Sadly I was wrong.
The H eventually accepted a job from the H. She more or less kept the relationship professional but was subsequently propositioned, money for your body basically. She held out for a short period then gave in. Unlike other books where the h may have been in a desperate situation and needed the money say for a child's surgery, this h had no real reason to go against her principles. She just thought to herself that the money would be good.
Hmmm arrg! There was nothing in her character that made her stand out compare to the other kept women of the H. I just couldn't like her. That spoiled the book for me and made it a difficult read.

More Than a Mistress Latin Men Volume 6 Delaney Diamond 9781940636436 Books Reviews
I enjoy every part of this book! I could not put this book down. I loved the new characters and catching up on old ones lives! LOVED IT!
I loved Esteban and Sonia's story, loved the other characters as well. It was good to see Nadine and Cortez again. This was a really good love story. I loved how much they loved each other. These two characters have you crying and laughing with them. Esteban was right to get rid of Pedro he was no good for her. This story really touch me,and a book that I will be reading again. So if you like a great romantic story this book is for you. Great job Delaney thank you.
I think this book is my new favorite book out of the Latin men series. Delaney writes about feelings hurt, lost and found. Even family relationships mending. I seriously recommend this book.
This is my second book by DD and I love it more than the first one I read, Second Chances. Some readers might be put off by the unconventional nature of Sonia/Esteban’s relationship at first but it’s no different than Pretty Woman really. A wealthy man sees an attractive woman and desires her so he makes an offer she can’t refuse. Sonia definitely has a mind of her own and her own motivations which creates an entertaining dynamic. Slowly this becomes more than an arrangement and real feelings develop, only neither admits it to the other and their relationship starts falling apart. This book takes you on a ride and I couldn’t stop reading until the end. It’s angtsy, erotic and emotional. The perfect ingredients for a thrilling love story. The fact that it’s multiracial is just the icing on the cake.
Esteban and Sonia's story was very endearing. It was a bit different from the first four books in this series, but no less intriguing. I enjoyed being to experience this couple's ups and downs as if I were there actually experiencing each one with them. It was an extra added bonus to be able to catch up with Nadine and Cortez Alesini to see how life has evolved for this beautiful couple. Delaney Diamond's "More Than a Mistress" is a definite must read for anyone that loves to get loss in a good romantical read.

I cannot believe this is installment five, feels like yesterday I was introduced to Delaney's work.
Anyhow, one cannot deny that Delaney is a gifted storyteller. One can also not deny that she often makes you root for someone that you more than likely wouldn't. Henceforth, we have Estaben. Yes, he is all things sexy, and Latin. Yet, that arrogance and ultimate indecent proposal really had you giving him the side eye. You also, had to look beyond the superficial components of Sonia. After the horrible interaction with Pedro one was like where will redemption happen.
It is often stated that one does not appreciate what they have until they lose it. With so much going on in the story from familiar issues between Sonia and her cousin Valencia. To Estaben coming to terms with his past. The story made for an interesting mixed outside of your standard Pretty Woman expectations.
This book took me by surprise on so many levels. The fact that a hot, powerful, rich, Latin man would fall in love with a strong, independent mixed raced woman in a well written novel was not one of the shockers. Ms. Diamond surely knows how to weave an enticing romance. The story was good, and even though there were points where I closed my eyes and shook my head wanting to scream out no, I was overruled by the characters and their own personal motivations.
Was there pain involved with Esteban and Sonia’s arrangement? There sure was. If the characters hadn’t been tortured there wouldn’t have been a book. I guess living a luxurious life takes some of the edge off. But the way their emotions evolved while they were together was what impressed me. It went a different direction than what I was expecting and that was a good thing. Their resolution made me a very happy reader. Ms. Diamond likes to put her characters through quite a bit of stress before they end up with their happily-ever-after.
